What’s the difference between ancient greece and ancient roman culture?
i hear about mythology and they both involve greece and rome.
I hear about the togas, and get confused. I think about everything like midas, Zeus and stuff, but Roman and greek culture seem the same. What’s up with that?

I believe togas are for the Romans.
Zeus is Greek… the Roman ‘Zeus’ is called ‘Jupiter’.
Mythology doesn’t involve only Greece and Rome… there is mythology from every culture around the world, in case you didn’t realize.
And the difference would quite clearly be that they’re two different places. Ever try Wikipedia? :-)
They are different. Ancient Greece was an agricultural society and also a naval based power. They traded all across the Mediterranean and established many colonies.
The Romans were influenced by the Greeks and adopted much of their culture, which is why they seem so similar. However, the Romans were a little more militaristic than the Greeks. From the Greeks, the Romans adopted Law, Art, Science, Mythology, and Mathematics.
If I remember correctly, Midas was Mycenean, another ancient culture of the Mediterranean.
Even after ancient Greece went into decline, Rome continued until it was sacked by the barbarians.
A lot is up with that. They are two different nation States. Pre Christianity there were Gods/Goddesses in both nations, but because of the different language they were called different names. There is a similar different between US English and English English. for example you spell words differently to us: Colour/Color; your call it a sidewalk we call it a pavement, you say elevator, we say lift. Your language has been influenced by the mass immigration from Eeurope and ours has been influenced by our Empire.
Vie la differance. (That’s French for it is good to be different).
Culturally, they were just about the same. The Romans were great admirers of Greek culture and copied everything including gods and their specific ranks then romanized them. Hence, Zeus became Jupiter both chief gods, Athena Greek goddess of wisdom became Minerva etc.. Rome built on top of the Greek arts and sciences, particularly engineering. The only discernible difference would be the gladiatorial games commonplace in Rome, which were not in Greece.
Significant differences, however existed politically and socially. Rome grew as 1 nation, later an empire, Greece was always a collection of city states sometimes united for common defense. Romans saw themselves as Romans, Greeks saw themselves as Spartans, Athenians or whatever city state they resided in. Roman society was built on military service to the state and was compulsory, only Sparta was similar. The Greeks developed democracy, Rome had a republic for landed class only, later ruled by emperors.
