Is the study of ancient greece and greek mythology the same thing?
I am planning on becoming a historian and i was curious if i specified in Ancient Greece if I would cover Greek mythology or only the actual history. If not, then what major/job covers greek mythology?(other then a teacher.)

The term mythology can refer to either the study of myths or a body of myths. For example, comparative mythology is the study of connections between myths from different cultures, whereas Greek mythology is the body of myths from ancient Greece.
whereas a study of ancient greece fully studies everything about the whole society
Mythology is just a branch of billions when it comes to this stuff

No it is not but studying Ancient Greece you will learn a lot about mythology because it is a essential part of Greek Culture. The greater part of Greek Art, be it Drama,sculptures,vase painting etc. all have mythological characters and happenings as there main theme. The Greek Religion is inseparable from its Mythology.
Studying the Classics,as we call it in Europe, will give you enough background to enable you to dig deeper by yourself.
